The Minilyzer ML1 is a handheld analyzer dedicated to analog audio measurements with essential sound level functions. The Minilyzer ML1 simplifies the process of system verification, diagnostics and repairs to audio installations. The user interface aids operators of all skill levels by automatically setting all ranges and providing complete results on a single screen.

Level


Continuously measures absolute input levels either in volts, dBu or dBV and the signal frequency. Relative measurements are also supported. Connecting MiniSPL further supports basic SPL and LEQ measurements.

THD+N


ML1 supports the measurement functions Total Harmonic Distortion plus Noise (THD+N) and 2nd to 5th selective harmonic distortion as dB value or in %. Input level and frequency measurement runs in parallel and balance indicator finds defective cables.

Frequency Sweep


ML1 automatically triggers to a sweep sequence with any step width and records the frequency response. The Minirator MR2 or MR-PRO may be used as signal source. After capture all sweep data is available.

Polarity


Finding wrongly connected speakers is as simple as moving ML1 into the sound field of the speaker under test and its polarity will be displayed. The same measurement through the XLR input is ideal for cable tests.

Time Sweep


Intermittent faults are often hard to find. The time sweep records the RMS level, frequency and the THD+N value simultaneously, helping to monitor the audio signal during a long period of time for later analysis.

Scope


Provides a quick and robust look at the waveform of the balanced audio signal, quickly finding clipping amplifiers etc. The auto-scale and auto-trigger functionality are normally only found in expensive stand-alone scopes.

1/3rd Octave


Analyze and improve sound systems using the 1/3rd Octave analyzer. With Pink Noise as a stimulus the frequency response of every sound system is directly visible on the Minilyzer screen. The peak frequency display supports you in finding feedback frequencies.

vu/PPM


Do you have to supply your mix to a broadcast van? By using the vu&PPM meter with free adjustable reference levels you can provide a perfect leveled signal. The vu meter enables you to adjust your outboard equipment for a perfect compression of your sound material.

Induction Loop Measurement AFILS


The Minilyzer together with the optional MiniLINK USB interface measures induction loops AFILS in accordance with the IEC60118 standard. A complete measurement menu following the standard can be enabled including calibration to customer field sensors.

MiniSPL Class 2 Measurement Microphone


The MiniSPL is the ideal accessory for the Acoustilyzer AL1 and Minilyzer ML1. Its self-powered design, the individual factory adjustment and the auto power-off control combine to make the MiniSPL an accurate, easy to handle yet affordable measurement microphone.


The servo-loop output stage design supports long cable connections between the analyzer and the microphone - up to several hundred meters. MiniSPL is also recommended and easy to use in conjunction with PC based measurement systems with high quality audio cards.

MiniLINK PC Software


MiniLINK, the optional USB interface and PC Software, allows documentation and data acquisition of all measurement functions. The instrument stores the test results in the internal memory, thus later the screenshots and measurement data can be transferred to PC for post processing.


MiniLINK provides power supply to the instrument for long-term operations and supports all PC's with Windows 2000 + SP3, XP, Vista, Win7 (32 & 64 Bit).



Induction Loop Measurements (AFILS)

Minilyzer together with MiniLINK supports all calibrated AFILS sensors and displays the actually measured field strength in A/m as well as in dB relative to the standardized reference of 400mA/m according IEC 60118 standard.

STI-PA Speech Intelligibility Option


The STIPA analyzer option allows durable and reliable speech intelligibility measurement within 15 seconds (typical). Besides the single value STI or CIS test result, a detailed view of modulation indices and individual band level results is provided. The STIPA analyzer includes amplitude weighting in accordance with the IEC 60268-16:2003 standards release.


Acquired measurements may be referenced to previously-established background noise level spectras with automatic recalculation of the STI values.


The STIPA Option requires the ML1-AL1 Crossgrade pre-installed in the Minilyzer.

Adapter -20dB


This adapter extends the electrical balanced input range of the Minilyzer and Acoustilyzer up to +40 dBu. This accessory is ideally used when measuring amplifier power output.

Precision Calibrator 94/114dB


The precision calibrator is used to ensure accurate sound level measurements. It generates 94 or 114 dBSPL reference tones @ 1kHz for calibration of 1/2” and 1/4” measurement microphones.

Soft Pouch


The Ever-ready Pouch protects the instrument during transport and operation. With its convenient belt clip, the instrument can be kept close by for those tasks requiring both hands. The Ever-ready Pouch allows operation of the instrument while fitted in the pouch. MR2 requires additional Shock Protection Jacket.

Exel System Case


This compact system case provides the professional transport protection for work in the field. It offers space for the handheld instruments, cables and connectors.

Manufacturer Calibration Certificate


The calibration certificate lists the individual product data with serial number. The calibration and adjustment procedures follow the documentation and traceability requirements of the EN ISO / IEC 17025 standard.


Annual re-calibration of the instrument is recommended ensuring accurate measurements. Calibration certificates for new products have to be ordered together with the product.
