opticalCON DRAGONFLY is a series of SMPTE fiber cables and connectors specially designed to be used in the Broadcast and AV markets.
It all began when Neutrik and a bunch of other fiber expert partners wanted to create the best expanded beam connector. The fruit of their collaboration gave birth to XB2, a brand new technology based on fiber lenses and fusion splicing. XB2 makes possible what was not possible with lens based connectors before. Thanks to this innovation, DRAGONFLY offers a superior optical performance and a longer lifetime than traditional expanded beam connectors. For this reason, DRAGONFLY is one of the best-performing lens based connector available on the broadcast market.
The cable connector comes pre-assembled, but spare parts are available as single components as well.
opticalCON DRAGONFLY comes with an optional assembly kit for easy repair.
The cable connectors come pre-assembled on female or male SMPTE hybrid cables (power and data). This single mode cable is different than other existing solutions, because you can repair it yourself with an optional assembly kit should anything ever go wrong. You can get back to work in a few minutes and with almost no training.
